Meet the Selah Team:

Camp Owner/ Creative Director

My name is Lori.  I'm a wife to my high school sweetheart & a mama to our 3 loving daughters.  I recently retired from teaching after 20 years and am now officially self employed as a Summer Camp Owner & a Botanical Artist at Wildflower & Fern, a handmade Co.

I am so excited to host our fourth year of Selah Retreats!   When we bought this sports camp in 2013, I had the idea to hang a sign that said, "SELAH" over the lodge door facing the lake. Selah is a word from the book of Psalms in the Bible, meaning to Pause & Reflect.  When I started dreaming of this idea for a creative soul retreat, I realized that the word SELAH would be a perfect description! As the Psalmist says, "If I had the wings of a dove, I would fly to the wilderness and rest."  Selah

So, because it is my mantra that "being Outside is almost ALWAYS better!"  And because I think women are never too old for summer camp....  I am officially inviting YOU to pack your insect repellent and your sleeping bag & put The Selah Retreat on your June Calendar!  Leave all your stress at home.  Maybe it will disappear while you're away at camp.

Art Teacher

Melissa, our faithful & kind hearted Art Instructor will be joining us at Camp again this summer.  Her creativity & encouragement is contagious!  If you are someone who says, "But I'm not an artist".... give it a try, Melissa will help you love making art again.

Melissa resides in Sullivan County, PA with her wonderful husband (Eric) and two children (Benjamin and Ayla). She has been a PA certified public art teacher since 2005. She taught for 8 years at Fairfield Area School District, in Adams County, as an elementary art teacher. In 2015,  God made a clear path for Melissa and her family to move back into the Endless Mountains where her husband is now the care-taker at her childhood homestead of Camp Brule`. She is currently teaching art to K-6 graders at Sullivan County School District.

Her true passion is to serve Christ with the talents He has given her. Her goal at Selah is to foster an atmosphere that brings people together while creating art in a stress free environment.

Certified Yoga Instructor

We are happy to welcome Jenn back to Camp again this summer!  Her funny & warm personality adds so much to a full weekend of yoga.  She takes all the intimidation out of any yoga poses you're unfamiliar with... you will feel comfortable with Jenn from the first time you meet her!

Jenn has been a Group Fitness Instructor since 2011, teaching everything from Turbo Kick to P90X to PiYo. She found her love of yoga after teaching higher intensity classes and needing a more restorative format. She currently teaches in multiple locations across Bradford, Sullivan, & Tioga counties.

Jenn became a certified Instructor (R-HYI) through Holy Yoga after searching for something that would combine her love of Jesus with her new found love of yoga. Jenn re-named her practice ‘Soul Yoga’, which embraces the essential elements of yoga: breath work, meditation and physical postures. In all of these elements, Christ is the focus of our intention and worship.

For this retreat, Jenn will be teaching 2 different Yoga classes:

  • Beginners Yoga on Pavilion #1.

  • Sunday late morning full-hour session of Soul Yoga. This will be our way of enjoying Chapel in the woods.

Jenn lives in LeRoy, PA with her husband of 16 years, Kevin, and her 3 children, Emily, Melanie, & Tyler.

Melina Noland

Certified Yoga Instructor

Melinda Noland, Wellness Center Director & Certified Fitness Instructor joins our team this year from Harrisonburg, VA.  She has attended several Selah Retreats & is excited to be on this side of the experience this summer.   We are thrilled to offer you the option of 2 levels of yoga instruction this summer.  Beginners & Intermediate/Advanced.   Melinda will be teaching the Intermediate/Advanced level.

Melinda has been in the fitness and wellness industry for over 16 year. Melinda teaches many different fitness exercise formats including HIIT, water aerobics, strength training and yoga. Her style and approach to yoga is dynamic yet gentle. For Melinda, alignment is key, allowing participants to increase the quality of the yoga practice not speed or duration. Minor adjustment can make the biggest difference and her cues help participants feel comfortable and empowered.

Her passion for people is evident with everything she dives into. The joy and energy she has when supporting and encouraging others to make healthy lifestyle choices is contagious. She is a natural motivator. Melinda is married to her Aaron. The two of them have spent the last 7 years laughing, crying, creating and simply doing life together knowing that this is only possible with the grace of God at the center of their marriage.

They are happily raising two dogs: Howie, a 14 year old Jack Russel and Maverick, a 6 year old Pointer/Hound Mix!  Life is busy in Harrisonburg, Virginia where the Noland’s live and celebrate life.

Jessica Beachy

Jess was a rock star at camp last year!  So many massages and she was still cheerful & energetic. She is a natural born massage therapist: skilled, strong, and sensitive.  We are so thankful she is coming back again this year to work out the kinks!!

Jess Beachy is a Licensed Massage Therapist who loves Jesus, her family, massage and the great outdoors. She completed her massage education at McCann School of Business & Technology. She intends to pursue education in medical massage and therapeutic work.

Jess is passionate about serving her clients and empowering them to enjoy life through massage. Whether its providing a calming atmosphere to relax in or addressing specific muscle tension, she is committed to helping her clients meet their goals.
